I am looking for someone to put together a small study in the Southwest Michigan, USA area. The information I am looking for is as follows: Number of commercial buildings within the central business district of a city. Population counts for a 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 3 mile, 5 mile, and 10 mile radius from the city center. I am looking for any patterns that can be represented as a ratio to determine the effect of population count on commercial property in a central business district. If you are able to also determine vacant property counts, that would be an added plus. I can provide a list of cities to do this research on. Chances are you will have to call the local cities to get assessor information on building counts by type, some information may be available through public records/databases.
