You should be obsessed with keeping your code neatly documented, excited by improvements in performance/efficiency/reliability, comfortable with ambiguity, and driven to make things work. You'll be working with custom-built controller boards and robotic prostheses, so knowing your way around a circuit is a must and past experience in robotic control is a huge plus. While decades of work experience is not necessary, you should be comfortable with documenting your design process, be willing to operate under a strict quality system, and be prepared to communicate back-and-forth with our engineering team. I am interested in designing, developing and manufacturing a RECEIPT size ONLY document scanner proto-type using off-the-shelf electrical and electronics components. Here is a brief functionality description: Upon sensing the paper in the feeder auto start the scan and store the file on SD card in JPG format. There is NO USB port required for file transfer. Only 2 ports required are: for charging the internal battery and the SD card slot. I am developing this proto-type for a project which will require 100 scanners. Upon project success many more scanners will be required. I need quotes for the design, development and delivery (California, USA) for 100 such scanners. If possible, do give quotes for 2-3 variations of the components / functionality. Contact me for any additional considerations needed for making scanner more efficient or cost lesser. Budget in the job description is indicative. The details specs are below. Paper sensor: mechanical or optical Auto launch / scan star...

The scope of this project has increased, in addition to the original job description (attached below) I am now looking for the circuit to contain multiple frame buffers (max of 64). The circuit should also contain a demultiplexer (on the inputs to the frame buffers) to distribute the output from the computer (different images) to each of the frame buffers in sequence. As below, the frame buffers should then store each individual image (for as long as the power is on) and each frame buffer should be equipped with a vga output to display the images on individual screens (800px x 480px) If this is something you think you will be able to design and build, please quote me a price, timescale for completion of design and fabrication and when you could start the work. I hope to hear from you shortly. Thanks Roger White ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Job Title Design and build a basic frame buffer Type of...

System Specification for Video Frame Buffer Version:1.0 24 January 2015 The unit is to be designed to capture video (video meaning image) input from a personal computer, buffer the captured video images in internal SDRAM and replay the captured video images to up to 48 individual VGA monitors in turn. The unit will be designed to meet the following requirements: - 1. The unit is to be designed such that the user can input up to a maximum of 48 images of a resolution of 800x600 (standard) up to a maximum of 1920x1080 (configurable). Each individual image to be captured is to be transmitted to the unit via a standard 19 pin HDMI or a VGA interface. The user presses a capture button on the unit when the user wishes the unit to capture a given image, the unit then captures the image and stores it in a SDRAM buffer. Each captured image is then displayed on one of up to 48 VGA monitors (in turn). The monitors will support VGA input at 800x600 75 frames per second. 2. Rather than one P...
