The suggested hourly rate, weekly number of hours and project period in this post are guesstimates. I'm flexible towards a convincing response. We can start right away. I'm looking for an engineer with experience and confidence in the area of electromechanical and possibly pneumatic controls. Initial steps would involve surveying the available technologies and recommending a path for likely success. This will be followed by initial prototype design that can be implemented using the common machining tools we have in our shop (metal lathe and mill, electronics bench, plastics cnc, lo-res 3D printer) along with purchase or easily acquired parts (Digi-key and McMaster-Carr). The prototyping stage will likely need several design attempts spread over several weeks. Finally, with a successful prototype we will move to final design that can be implemented either in our shop or through fast-turnaround dedicated suppliers (machine shop, 3D printing, custom electronics tech) The concept is to d...

We have a small sensor to be protected inside a cylindrical housing and that will be periodically deployed. The sensor is a small laser scanner and the entire cylindrical housing can rotate which will allow the sensor to do a 3D map of its surroundings. Your task is to design the deployment mechanism for the sensor and which will have two actions. 1. the translation of some kind of hatch or cover, and 2. the deployment of the sensor itself The whole mechanism is to be powered hydraulically probably, but not necessarily, using a bi-directional hydraulic cylinder. Your task will be to design the mechanism producing a virtual 3D model of its operation using Autodesk Inventor. On acceptance of the job we will send the CAD drawings of the space available, the housing cylinder and the sensor as well as more detailed specifications.

I've worked with a designer to prototype a 3D model for a robot lawnmower. I am looking for someone with mechanical engineering skills using SolidWorks 2015 to make this into a manufacturable device. This work will include designing several moving mechanisms (sliding covers, wheels, bumpers, ...), static and dynamic analysis of parts where appropriate, materials selection, and designing parts for injection molding. This work will include integrating the cutting system which is being designed by another engineer. My preference would be to handle this as an hourly contract to allow us more flexibility to explore interesting options and to insulate us from an error in the estimation process or a miscommunication of the requirements. I would rather work directly with a skilled engineer than with a project manager. I will need a signed NDA from the winning engineer. If this sounds interesting to you, please confirm you have the skills listed above and include 2 designs from your port...

Create a drive ring. Create a communications port pathway component. Create a thrust module part. Create cavities and water tight covers required for the drive ring part to contain the thrust module and electric motors. The drive ring will attach to our X14 assembly. The communications port will provide a pathway for electronic data transmission between assembly parts. The thrust module will provide water thrust movement and should be designed to inserted and removed easily by an end user. The thrust modules when inserted will connect to the output shafts of the electric motors. A intermediate shaft and gear cogs should be considered to allow contact between the motors and modules. The intermediate shafts should be stainless and the gears should be nylon. This intermediate shaft should also be modular. The thrust module impellers will need to be rubber impeller type as commonly found in marine applications. The electric motors should be drone type motors designed for heavy lift dr...

Dear freelancers, I am representing Tablebox, a company located in Copenhagen, Denmark. We offer a solution, which is a patented fast-food box designed for stadiums, drive-thru restaurants and gas-stations, that is made of solid cardboard (aka paperboard) and comes in different sizes and shapes. We are looking for a right profile, with specialised experience within folding/constructing packaging, to assist on in further development of the Tablebox. 1) How much experience do you have with designing, preparing cutterfiles, gluing and prototyping with cardboard packaging? 2) Could you provide pictures of your previous work within this area? 3) The first specific task is regarding constructing an edge that can be produced on a gluing machine (which is a complicated process, due to many angles of the packaging). We have already some solutions, but to be specific: a. It has to be a solution that doesn't require a custom made gluing machine to produce the box. b. Either it is a glu...

job has 3 parts 1) mirror cutout/layout for 3D module (already complete thank you!) 2) Thermal Add-on for generic PV module My idea is to combine a solar PV module and a solar thermal (hot water) module, by making an "after market" product that can be installed on the back of any generic PV module to collect the heat by circulating water across its backside--with the least expensive design I can think of. We may need to communicate back and forth a little more on this, but the idea underlying this design has three elements: a) a large water filled "zip-lock" bag behind/underneath a standard PV module, b) hose to supply water to the bag (in on one side, out on the other) which can connect to the next bag in series, c) a plastic/honeycomb structure that holds the bag in contact with the back of the PV module. The zip lock bag doesn't have to be an actual zip-lock bag, it is just my way of saying a large area but thin plastic bag capable of being filled with w...

Our coconut company has a very interesting and fun project and looking for the right designers / engineers that understand product / material design. ... And love coconuts! We are looking to design a strong but flexible sleeve or cover for shipping (maybe silicon or other material) that will keep the coconut from cracking when frozen. This sleeve will essentially replace the natural fiber husk around the hard shell of the coconut. Frozen coconuts don't crack when they have their fiber husk. We would like to remove this fiber husk and then freeze the shell, and ship the coconut. This sleeve needs to be breathable just like the natural coconut fiber husk. You will be provided with whole uncut coconuts and education about coconuts. Please contact us with your resume to find out if we are a good fit for each other and for more information about this project.

Hi Guys, I have re-posted this project in a different format due to not being able to obtain the appropriate freelancers previously. I require a suitably qualified and well experienced CAD/Solidworks etc etc designer to design custom plastic and injection moulded covers for us upon request. We currently have several products and material that we require a designer to put this into a design program and design our products also so as we can send these designs directly to the manufacturer to manufacture. This will be ongoing work and we require highly experienced freelancers and the work must be to the highest of quality and standards. Good luck bidding and look forward to getting this project rolling! Regards, Nick

Hello Ink & Fiber, The product we're developing is a little unusual in that it is not apparel, it is a fabric cover for an outdoor product. It's similar in nature to a patio furniture cover, so it will need to be manufactured in a tough waterproof material with a large commercial zipper or ties. We are looking for someone to offer ideas on modifying the design for ease of manufacture based upon a sketch. After the design is solidified, we would like to see it as photorealistic as possible to be used in materials such as sell sheets and on a website. I realize most of your experience is in the apparel industry and I want to be sure we find the right match for this project so as to not waste both of our time. If you feel it is out of scope with your abilities, we would appreciate your honesty in that respect when deciding whether to accept the job or not. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks! -Todd Miner
