Hi, I run a soft goods business specializing in making pop culture related items for artists/brands, etc. Recently I've made items for customers which I believe could potentially be infringing copyright. I'd like to find out the following: 1) How to avoid copyright infringement when working with pop culture figures, brands, etc. as inspiration 2) Is it legal to make these items for customers 3) Is it legal to sell these items online? These are the general questions which are burned in my mind, of course I have a lot more which I'd like to learn about pertaining to IP law but the essence is how to create designs which use inspiration but do not infringe copyright. -- Additionally, since my business involves working with artists I'd like to create an agreement that would allow me some sort of control when working with these artists.
