I am looking for a programmer who can write a program that will check a directory for new files or folders (against a text document or some other simple database) and initiate down sampling of the video files copying the lower resolution files to a folder on another hard drive. I am thinking FFMPEG will work here, although I have heard that H264 files don't down sample with good enough quality. Currently I am manually using Adobe Media Encoder to drop the quality of the footage to create a smaller file size. I would like to do the same, only progomatically so that I don't have to go in manually and set the program to run daily. If you have any suggestions on how to manipulate lowering the quality of video using a program that can run nightly and keep files up to date. I'm open to suggestions.
