We need someone to help us put together a quick background task for a Heroku app we have. The job is simple: every 5 minutes- 1 parse a dynamic page's source code, 2 populate DB with clearly specified name-value attributes, 3 .run a computation (simple additive formula we have in Excel) 4. populate DB with results of that computation. - - That's it. Looking for someone very good with web parsing, Ruby on Rails background tasks, and of course, Heroku. We need someone TODAY please as the service goes live 18-24 hours from the time of this post.

Hello. I have a ruby on rails application which I need to finish. The app is built on top of the SaaS Rails kit (  [obscured]  /saas/). The application lets businesses accept orders via the application instead of having it faxed or emailed. The functionality of this app is nearly identical to Shopify, in fact you can create a trial account and see how that functions to have a good idea of what I would like in the application. There are two big differences. First, this is business-to-business so the entire application requires a login. Second, we do not accept credit cards once the order is complete, instead the business gets alerted of the order. More about how the application works: A business (lets call this business ABC Corp) will initially have one user administrator (automatically the person that created the account). This user admin can create other users and clients for ABC Corp. What's the difference between a user and client? A user is someone that works at the co...

We are a Paris-based startup, launching a product aimed at helping stores and merchants increase their revenue, and improve their marketing approaches. Our solution works in two parts: Part 1: uses Wifi Access points to measure the presence of smartphone carriers in the vicinity. Part 2: The store incentivizes the customer to log into their Wifi page via a social network profile. We categorize and aggregate attributes over all of their customers' profiles, and extract demographic trends for the store. Project: We are in the very early stage of building a production system, and thus require help for 1-3 months in setting up the platform. Work involves the following tasks: - building a web dashboard for metrics display (Rails, Angular?) - building APIs to serve metrics to web frontend (node.js + other?) - database architecture to normalize and deduplicate social data - message queueing and database queries to create proper metrics - connecting to social network APIs Our pla...
