Update: After a long discussion with my insurance agent, I've removed the design insurance requirement. I am looking for a electronics design partner to create two printed circuit boards for a robotic lawnmower. I am price conscious and interested to learn about any price trade-offs that are available. I believe I want two boards as follows: The base station should contain a PCB that is AC powered using an external transformer. It should have basic location capabilities, an RF transmitter, a modulated infrared light, and provide power to charge the robot unit. The robot should contain a PCB that is battery powered. It should contain a micro-controller, multiple motor drivers, battery management, GPS capabilities, an RF transceiver, and infrared sensors, a small LCD touch screen, sound generation, and several sensors including one or more cameras. These boards should be in compliance with relevant US and EU regulations and standards. You should produce basic software for the sy...

We are building a personal bluetooth audio headset, and need a PCB designed for it. Overview: A PCB that functions as personal audio device, using bluetooth and 1gb of internal flash memory as the sources for music, in addition to functioning as a pedometer (pyrometer and accelerometer sensors). The board will need 5 button inputs: (1)ON/OFF/PLAY/PAUSE (2)FAST FORWARD (3)REWIND (4)VOLUME UP (5)VOLUME DOWN The board will also need two audio outputs for high powered ear buds (left and right). Priorities: 1) Compact size As small as possible. Ideally, the components will all fit onto a single pcb no larger than 1cm x 2.5c. If this size isn't possible, we are okay with stacking two boards that fit these dimensions as a last resort. 2) Good battery life The circuit should be designed with battery life in mind. Bluetooth, and local mp3 storage should run integrated circuits; we want don't want to waste power on the bluetooth if the device is using the local memory as the data input f...

Design a fully functional custom printed circuit board (PCB) to be used with Intel Edison(r) compute module (  [obscured]  /content/  [obscured]  /en/do-it-yourself/edison.html). Both the board and the module would preferably be powered using a single Micro USB type B receptacle (similar to the official Intel Edison(r) Mini Breakout board) connected to a power-path management IC like the TI BQ24074 or similar. The board should also contain a RJ45 Ethernet receptacle connected to a Microchip LAN9500A (or alternatively LAN9512) Ethernet-to-USB chip and Microchip 24AA02E48 EUI-48 EEPROM chip, which would provide unique MAC address to the Ethernet interface. In addition, the board should have pin headers for reset switch and status LEDs. UPDATE: I added a draft of possible circuit board layout design. The final design doesn't need to be exactly as in the image, but it hopefully gives you a better idea of what I am looking for. - I have no hardware design experience so I am dependant on y...

I am looking for an experienced and knowledgeable engineer to aid in the design and prototyping of an embedded system for a product we are planning on bringing to market. The design and components should closely mirror that of the Raspberry Pi Model A+, with some components removed and some added. In particular, we desire a pre-certified (FCC) wireless-n module and 4-8gb of eMMC or NAND flash. HDMI and two USB will also be required. A successful candidate will have the ability to provide a schematic of the design, will be able to aid in the component selection, will be able to produce a functional prototype and provide required support for internal embedded linux development. Milestones for the project are anticipated to be, (1) component selection in coordination with the client, (2) delivery of approved schematic and (3) delivery of functional prototype. Ongoing opportunities for a successful candidate may be available. Please fell free to contact us with any questions relating ...

We need an experienced expert in electronics/automation that will help us design an electronic schema or automation set-up that will allow us to cover the following scenario: - we need to acquire data from a set of analogue sensors - 128 per module, with the possibility to connect multiple modules up to 10 (if it is possible to be more, the better), all being the same type of sensor (e.g. temperature, pressure, load, etc) and to transmit this information over a GPRS modem to remote server; - there should be a PLC or another electronic schema that will ensure that all sensors installed are read, and we do not need to have their values in the same time, so we might allocate say 10 minutes to read them all, one at a time - the data that the PLC will send through the modem should be similar to this pattern: ModuleID.SensorID,ValueofSensor; ModuleID.SensorID,ValueofSensor; etc we need the PLC to translate the analogue values into their actual value (e.g. temperature, pressure, weight, etc),...
