I have millions of text files and will constantly be getting more. They all have a different structure, but some are similar. The data is completely random. What I need is to extract certain types of information. For example, I want to extract information like name, email, DOB, address, etc. (there is other data I am interested in as well). However, a file may have 100s of these, or a file may only have one. I want to go through and process all the files for this data. Simple regex will not work because some of the data I want to pull out can be any type of text. I want this to be highly accurate. In all there may only be 1000 formats with the data, but it is hard to say for sure. Not sure if a machine learning NLP is the way to go, or if other text mining is a better way for information extraction. Please let me know your past experience and the approach you would take to solve this problem. I need it to be highly accurate, efficient, and scalable.

I need to use a variety of topic modelling approaches, starting with latent dirichlet allocation. A lot of work has been done already on building infrastructure for this. See here:   [obscured]  /JohnLangford/vowpal_wabbit/wiki for the basic platform and then here:   [obscured]  /columbia-applied-data-science/rosetta/blob/master/examples/vw_helpers.md for the helpers that will enable working with the platform. So, this task is to write the python scripts and setup the environment to enable me use vowpal wabbit for topic modelling. The solution needs to deal with the raw data, which is in CSV format and pass it correctly to the helpers and then to vowpal wabbit with the outputs saved in a usable format for analysis. If you are interested in this task please reply with: 1. a description of how you would approach the task 2. what challenges, if any, you think you would face with the task 3. a description of your experience of similar projects

Hey, I am working on a project to teach computers on how to value different pieces of equipment used in construction projects. I have information about specifications of about 400,000 pieces of equipment and their selling prices. I need to build a model so that when I input the specifications into the computer it spits out the price. This will just be a consultation via a phone call (for an hour or so) on how I can do this. I will send you a list of 15-20 questions (maybe more) that I want answered. I will do this after you bid for the job and your experience matches my criteria. I want to use Microsoft Azure infrastructure to develop the model. Multiple elancer's will be selected for paid consultation and one person will be awarded the contract to actually work on the model (down the road). Thanks.

We are trying to predict the average value of a user arriving on a category on our website. The competition: The data is segmented to three pieces: train, test and validation. The train and test data are in the train_data.csv and contains labeled data. The validation data, is the one you are tested upon, and you'll receive only an un-labeled dataset, where we have a labeled dataset. Once you complete your modeling and submit your results it will be tested against the labeled validation data. The winner is the one who gets the lowest wMSE over the validation dataset, will get a 300$ Bonus. The daily winner will get a 15$ bonus. The minimum requirements of every submission is to be better than the last version you've submitted and to be better than model 0, a very basic model we've created which should not be hard to over come. If you'll meet the minimum requirements(Send a better prediction than the model 0, and the R code file) you'll be awarded with 50$ once during the competitio...
