Here's an easy job for someone who knows what they're doing. I am looking for an experienced editor/copywriter to write long copy that sounds personal. I will take what you write & mail it as a letter to someone I know in order to hopefully convince her to give me a job. Very much like a cover letter. Does this mean you have to think hard of WHAT to say? No, I've done all the hard work of creating an outline & planning what to say including major points & arguments. What I need from you is to listen to what I am trying to say, edit & refine my message & finally put it into words so it is coherent & flows smoothly. i.e. I need help in expression. I would've done this all myself except, you know how you can write stuff for others fairly easily but when it comes to writing for your own projects, it's much harder? Well, that's me. I've been planning this letter but when it came time to write, I just froze. Two months passed & I have little to show for it. Th...

I need to make a Print-Ready PDF for Createspace. I have the text of a Public Domain title in Markdown, which I can export to 'LaTeX', but I am having a terrible time trying to make LaTeX work on my system, and even more terrible a time trying to find answers to my specific issues or clear instruction on how to start from scratch, too. I am not sure exactly what needs to be done, but I am pretty sure I will need someone with familiarity with the Memoir doc Class. I have some TrueType fonts chosen, so that means it has to be Xe____TeX, right? I am a Bible Translator, and eventually want to produce a bible this way as well... I'll need source files and PDFs for the final product.

We need to have a javascript markdown editor. We like the functionality of StackEdit. But we don't need all that elements around it (like saving documents, , publishing, cloud services, etc.). It's an open source project so you can take that and extract the needed components. We would like to release the simpler javascript markdown editor also as open source. The code can be found under:   [obscured]  /benweet/stackedit So the task would be: - Extract the functionality to provide a simple javascript markdown editor, which has the possiblity of switching from markdown to preview mode. - If possible node.js should be removed, it should word standalone on the client side. - Publish the code in github under a new open source project.

Convert 4th draft of book, 43 files (6.4MB) in Microsoft Word to Leanpub-flavored Markdown. The book has ~140K words, which if printed as a 6x9 book would be 300 pages. Leanpub does the conversion to markdown text, but it needs a fine eye and tweaking to look good in Leanpub. Particular care needs to be taken to have unique footnotes IDs (as per   [obscured]  /help/manual#leanpub-auto-footnotes), resulting in: [^ftn-01-1]: Target Map. 2012. "Most Popular Spectator Sports in the World". Target Map web site. [  [obscured]  /viewer.aspx?reportId=13258](  [obscured]  /viewer.aspx?reportId=13258). Leanpub asides icons need to be set: You can use any icon on   [obscured]  /Font-Awesome/icons/ with the following syntax: {icon=icon-name} G> Text An example of conversion of a chapter from the previous draft available.

We currently have a platform that allows small fashion retailers to sell full price inventory online. They can upload inventory onto our system and manage the inventory they've uploaded. Shoppers can then go ahead and purchase inventory from their profile on our site. We need your help to roll out an off branded version of our website that will be it's own web property, but pull from the existing inventory and associated data that the retailers have uploaded. Retailers will be able to select an item they want moved to the off branded website and the desired markdown amount. The item will be removed from the main site and listed only on the off branded website. The off branded website can leverage much of the existing sites code, including login/signup, checkout, shipping, etc.

Hello, I am building a reference website and would like to put examples for ANSI-C, unistd.h and some of the socket programming with annotations. If you have a knowledge about this and would like to recapture what you know in writing, then this is a perfect opportunity. The example/snippet should be valid C and must be part of executable/compiled code. The documentation/output capture will be written directly in MarkDown format. The list is:   [obscured]  / Under: ANSI LibC, Network Programming, System Programming. I don't need full source code. An example would be: ----------------------------- printf("Hello, my name is %s, and I am %d \n", "Name", 30); #the above function invocation, would produce: Hello, my name is Name, and I am 30 ----------------------------- My budget for this effort is $200. Thanks, Thinh

I am building a website and would like to collect Unix command examples. There are a few hundred 300-400 of common ones. (  [obscured]  : in the command reference) What is provided to you is the list of unix commands and their manpages right in the same browser, and an editor in Markdown format. Your job is to go through the manpages / or use your prior knowledge and write the examples down in your own words, in short sentences. So if you are handy with unix and have knowledge of many of the unix commands, then you can definitely do the job. My budget $200. Thanks, Thinh

I have a transcription of a scanned story of 14 pages, some 6,000 words. I'm looking for someone to post-edit the transcription against the scanned original for *exact faithfulness to the original only*. All aspects of the original should be maintained, including punctuation, italicization, paragraph breaks (but not line breaks); even misspellings should be accurately reflected. The transcription is quite poor, with many OCR errors. The task requires extreme attention to detail. I have attached the scanned original (PDF) and the current transcription to give a sense of the material. The first two paragraphs of the transcription have already been corrected, in order to indicate what is desired. Note that this is not a traditional copyediting job, as no corrections or improvements to the text are wanted. Rather, the goal is to get as accurate and faithful a transcription as possible. The transcription is in Markdown format, a simple textual format that allows markup for, e.g., headings...

We are using the Markdown Preview (  [obscured]  /revolunet/sublimetext-markdown-preview) plug-in for previewing and converting Markdown from Sublime text -- hence it is written in Python. The table extension that comes with this has some limitations that we would like to improve.
