I want to model some of it after this   [obscured]   For example capturing emails from visitors, and the Git Bit lookup. It needs to be easy to post to (I use Windows Live Writer). I am comfortable using Markdown. Plus would like to brainstorm about alternatives to using Wordpress and hosting platforms (maybe GitHub).

I have a Jekyll blog (source files in Markdown) that I need converted to Wordpress. I'm not sure what exactly is involved, but I'm assuming that the .md files need to be parsed and put into a format that Wordpress can natively import. It's essential that the date, URL, slug, etc... is maintained with the conversion.

You will convert a Wordpress blog and website (xaprb.com) with nearly 1000 posts to Octopress. I will provide the following: * A Github repository with a default Octopress installation and theme. * The text of the blog posts, in Markdown format. * The images and other linked assets such as PDFs. * A mysqldump export of the entire Wordpress blog. * All other (non-Wordpress) site content. There are several static pages and images. You will then do the following: * Customize Octopress's theme slightly to look more like the existing blog. It need not look exactly like it, but I would like to add a header image. * Review the content of all of the blog posts for formatting, and fix any issues. I have noticed that the default export format of the plugin I used to convert to Markdown causes some inlined or floated images to float badly. You can simply remove inlining and floating. I have also noticed that some blockquote or code sections may have wrong formatting. * Convert static content ...

I have a Wordpress site that has all the posts written in Textile markup language. I want to change the site to using the Markdown markup language, and need to get all the posts converted, and for the database tables to be updated so that Wordpress uses the Markdown plugin. The site currently uses this plugin for Textile:   [obscured]  /extend/plugins/text-control/ And I would like it to use this plugin for Markdown:   [obscured]  /extend/plugins/wp-markdown/ I understand that the Markdown plugin saves the posts to HTML format (see the plugin description), and so it may be that the post database needs to be converted first to HTML, and then for the Markdown integration to happen. I'm not entirely sure how this should happen. I only use relatively simple Textile formatting: bolding, images, text links, ordered / unordered lists. I'm able to provide you with the raw MySQL database dump for my Wordpress site (or an XML export, whichever is more useful). I can provide ...

------- Tl;dr: ------- Need a programmer to migrate a Chyrp blog into Tumblr. ------------------------- Longer description: ------------------------- Need someone to dump everything residing currently in a Tumblr blog, and import posts from an existing self-hosted blog powered by Chyrp <  [obscured]  />. Data needs to be preserved exactly including character encoding, post types, images, and timestamps. Since Chyrp posts are written in Textile, and Tumblr uses Markdown, all posts will need to be converted from Textile into Markdown syntax. There's a tool that may help with the conversion:   [obscured]  /. The design of the new Tumblr site does not need to be changed or handled at all, a default Tumblr theme is fine. The job doesn't have an exact deadline, but I would like it done in 7 days max. following the agreement.

In short, we need to get a WordPress theme from an existing layout and a complete WordPress install on our server. We need: (a) Creation of a WP theme based on the Thematic (or comparable) base theme. (b) Integrate NextGEN galleries (c) Install & deploy WordPress on our server We do NOT want a WYSIWYG editor. Rather, a stable Markdown or Textile plugin should be used. It should be quite easy for non-techie users to enter blog content and upload images, so there should be a shortcode for referencing images within blog posts, or any other means you deem plausible without using a WYSIWYG editor. We will do content migration in-house, so your proposal should only cover the items above. However, you may of course offer additional services that you think could be necessary. The complete project details, including name of the client, are covered under an NDA, but I will e-mail them to any realistic bidder promptly.
