Hello, I'm Armi, and I'm looking for a talented and experienced ebook designer. I run a health and fitness blog at EvidenceMag.com, and we publish a lot of downloadable ebooks and reports. We need someone to help us design and format them correctly. We also need help with editing images for logos, adding watermarks to copyrighted photographs, and similar small graphic design tasks. Here are your responsibilities: - Downloading a markdown file (Markdown is just a text editor) with the content to be used in an ebook or report. If you don't know how to use Markdown, that's okay, but you will need to learn. It's very easy to understand. - Turning that content into a PDF, Mobi, and Epub file. - Finding and editing stock images for each ebook. - Working with me to adjust the design until we're both satisfied. - Using your own judgement to make subtle changes to the design, not just basic stuff like pasting an image. You need to have complete control over the appearance of the finishe...

Word parser and highlighter and text-input handler written in Coffeescript with Unit tests. Job Description: I have a specific set of front-end functionality that I would like built in Coffeescript. The code should include unit tests (e.g. Nodeunit) for all items. Additionally, you should include a basic README (preferably in Markdown) that details how to set up and run the tests (and any other information that seems relevant). I will provide 3 flat HTML template files for reference and which you can use for testing. As you'll see from the specific requirements, this is a typing test app, though with arbitrary text (not just plain English or other natural language). The specific functionality is as follows: - Programatically identify a given CSS ID for a source DIV - programatically identify a text-input DIV based on CSS ID - Parse HTML in the source DIV, tokenize this content (white-space delimited). Expect the content to be pre-styled using SPAN elements - Highlight "curre...

I need to make a Print-Ready PDF for Createspace. I have the text of a Public Domain title in Markdown, which I can export to 'LaTeX', but I am having a terrible time trying to make LaTeX work on my system, and even more terrible a time trying to find answers to my specific issues or clear instruction on how to start from scratch, too. I am not sure exactly what needs to be done, but I am pretty sure I will need someone with familiarity with the Memoir doc Class. I have some TrueType fonts chosen, so that means it has to be Xe____TeX, right? I am a Bible Translator, and eventually want to produce a bible this way as well... I'll need source files and PDFs for the final product.

We need to have a javascript markdown editor. We like the functionality of StackEdit. But we don't need all that elements around it (like saving documents, , publishing, cloud services, etc.). It's an open source project so you can take that and extract the needed components. We would like to release the simpler javascript markdown editor also as open source. The code can be found under:   [obscured]  /benweet/stackedit So the task would be: - Extract the functionality to provide a simple javascript markdown editor, which has the possiblity of switching from markdown to preview mode. - If possible node.js should be removed, it should word standalone on the client side. - Publish the code in github under a new open source project.

I need a rockstar full-stack developer to build an awesome video site. There aren't a lot of features, so it's not a very large project. I have a UI style guide you'll need to follow from day one. Note: I'm also a developer, and your code will be continuously monitored for quality via pull requests. Don't apply unless you understand this and have no problems with being asked to change things if I disagree with your approach. Features include: - Users (login, profile) - Social (Like/Tweet/+1) - Billing (pay-per-view for now, subscriptions may come later) -- Using Stripe Marketplaces; video producer gets the cost minus platform + billing fees -- Allow for other possible billing providers (like Coinbase?) - Videos -- Upload directly to S3 using Filepicker.io -- Transcode using Amazon Elastic Transcoder -- Search by tag, category, title, description or notes -- Video.js player with customized theme/colors -- Markdown video notes (editor/preview) -- Comments on videos (nested) -- Admin c...

Convert 4th draft of book, 43 files (6.4MB) in Microsoft Word to Leanpub-flavored Markdown. The book has ~140K words, which if printed as a 6x9 book would be 300 pages. Leanpub does the conversion to markdown text, but it needs a fine eye and tweaking to look good in Leanpub. Particular care needs to be taken to have unique footnotes IDs (as per   [obscured]  /help/manual#leanpub-auto-footnotes), resulting in: [^ftn-01-1]: Target Map. 2012. We currently have a platform that allows small fashion retailers to sell full price inventory online. They can upload inventory onto our system and manage the inventory they've uploaded. Shoppers can then go ahead and purchase inventory from their profile on our site. We need your help to roll out an off branded version of our website that will be it's own web property, but pull from the existing inventory and associated data that the retailers have uploaded. Retailers will be able to select an item they want moved to the off branded website and the desired markdown amount. The item will be removed from the main site and listed only on the off branded website. The off branded website can leverage much of the existing sites code, including login/signup, checkout, shipping, etc.

**NOTE: Applicant must be on OSX (mac) ** I need help creating some text files, from portions of some books that I've marked up. The general process will be: 1. Looking at scanned, marked up copy for the the highlighted or marked text. 2. Finding and copying that text in a second file (either an ePub or a PDF). 3. Copying and pasting the text into a text file, formatted using the Markdown syntax (explained below) I've attached a few files that should give you a sense of this process - a scanned PDF, an ePUB file for the book, and a partial example of the "product" text file, with all section headings captured, and the text marked up using markdown. APPS FOR READING ePUB, and WRITING MARKDOWN You'll need *Kitabu* to open and copy from the ePub file, which is available on the Mac App store:   [obscured]  /us/app/kitabu/id492498910?mt=12 In order to write/preview in Markdown, you can either use the online editor dillinger.io, or Lightpaper:   [obscured]

Searching for an individual who can transcribe some files for me using an Outliner program. It's extremely important that the individual have access to a Mac computer with the ability to download programs / software onto it. The individual must have transcription experience and either know or be willing to learn how to format plain text using markdown (a plain formatting syntax which is very easy to learn). A tutorial link can be provided, if needed. Also, prefer someone within the U.S. or U.K. with English as a first language. This will be a recurring project, so when you finish one transcription, I will assign another, etc. I may also reach out to see if the individual can help with other Mac-specific tasks.
