I use a Macintosh, on which I have become a great fan of Ulysses III (and formerly iA Writer) to write documents in Markdown text (.md files). With an app called "Marked", this can be turned into nicely laid out documents that I can then save as a PDF. Sadly, the built-in CSS styles of Marked are limited, especially also given my own personal limitations (I don't understand CSS enough). Long story short: In the future I would like to do all of my writing with Ulysses 3 and create the respective PDFs with Marked. Most likely, over time I will need a range of of CSS style sheets, namely - letter / fax (not sure if that should be one or two) - CV - memo / proposal - invoice - column / essay - book (for ePub) This job posting is merely a start to this and focused on the CSS for letter/fax. I could show you what I wanted from an old PDF, you could propose how to graphically improve it, and in the end I would need the CSS, preferably well documented in case I would ev...

I have a Wordpress site that has all the posts written in Textile markup language. I want to change the site to using the Markdown markup language, and need to get all the posts converted, and for the database tables to be updated so that Wordpress uses the Markdown plugin. The site currently uses this plugin for Textile:   [obscured]  /extend/plugins/text-control/ And I would like it to use this plugin for Markdown:   [obscured]  /extend/plugins/wp-markdown/ I understand that the Markdown plugin saves the posts to HTML format (see the plugin description), and so it may be that the post database needs to be converted first to HTML, and then for the Markdown integration to happen. I'm not entirely sure how this should happen. I only use relatively simple Textile formatting: bolding, images, text links, ordered / unordered lists. I'm able to provide you with the raw MySQL database dump for my Wordpress site (or an XML export, whichever is more useful). I can provide ...

------- Tl;dr: ------- Need a programmer to migrate a Chyrp blog into Tumblr. ------------------------- Longer description: ------------------------- Need someone to dump everything residing currently in a Tumblr blog, and import posts from an existing self-hosted blog powered by Chyrp <  [obscured]  />. Data needs to be preserved exactly including character encoding, post types, images, and timestamps. Since Chyrp posts are written in Textile, and Tumblr uses Markdown, all posts will need to be converted from Textile into Markdown syntax. There's a tool that may help with the conversion:   [obscured]  /. The design of the new Tumblr site does not need to be changed or handled at all, a default Tumblr theme is fine. The job doesn't have an exact deadline, but I would like it done in 7 days max. following the agreement.

I'm looking for a software professional to build a Clojure application that crawls URLs and caches to Amazon S3. This is a great opportunity for a talented developer to build a simple, powerful web crawler in a modern language (Clojure) using great decentralized storage tools (Amazon S3, Riak). I hope that I find a great contractor who wants to work on an ongoing basis. ## Application Requirements: 1. Use Amazon S3 an an external file store. 2. Use Riak as an external working database. 3. Be responsible; (a) respect `robots.txt`; (b) throttle access based on domain; (c) use a configurable user agent string. Riak. 4. There is no GUI, only a Clojure API. 5. The API to add a URL to crawl: (add-crawl-url {:url "  [obscured]  -url.co/stuff.html" :priority 5}) This sets the one or more initial URLs. It can also add a new URL if the crawl is already underway. URLs with higher priority get processed first. 6. The API to run the crawl is: (crawl) This instr...

I am a software developer and make an app for iOS. I have also maintained the website for the app up until now, but I don't have time to do it all. The site is in WordPress (with a forum site in Question2Answer, which is a PHP site that piggy-backs on the Wordpress user database). The site does some cool things, like parse Markdown. You are comfortable with MySql, PHP, Wordpress, JQuery and HTML/CSS. It would be cool (but not necessary) if you own an iPad and and an iPhone or iPod touch, too (or can run the simulator on a Mac). If you can help with the design, that's cool too, but it's not necessary. You also don't mind working with me (a web developer, too): I get into the details a bit on every job I manage. I also will insist that you don't work with larger changes directly on the Wordpress site until we're ready to deploy. We can host another site on a subdomain, or you can host a site, or whatever. You're also interested in keeping costs controlled by using your creativity....

JSDuck is a GPL v3 application on GitHub that automates documentation generation for JavaScript code bases in a fashion similar to the traditional JavaDocs application. JSDuck's documentation capabilities far out way the capabilities of JavaDocs and my company would like to have Java support added to JSDuck so that it's full feature set, including intelligent parsing, tagging, file linking, etc may be used on Java files as well as JavaScript files. Our need for this is driven by a desire to have a common documentation format for server and client side code we develop. Ideally the results of this work would be accepted by the JSDuck GitHub team allowing this support to exist in the main JSDuck tree, however, if the JSDuck team is not interested in accepting this work it is acceptable for this work to live in a GitHub fork off of the JSDuck project. All code developed in this effort will be licensed GPL v3 just as the existing JSDuck code base. The candidate(s) for this job must be...

Looking for responsive that can respond to my requests during a 9AM - 6PM PST time. Approximately 2-hours per week of various small (10-15 minute) tasks throughout the week, increasing as your demonstrate capabilities. This may increase depending on capability and my business growth. Primary tasks initially: * Scheduling appointments through Timebridge, Outlook, and Webex * Tasks through Salesforce.com * Typing and formatting scanned-in hand-written notes -- and understanding context (per word versus hourly ($.02 maximum but please include your bid)) * Making follow-up phone calls to schedule hard-to-connect with appointments Ii provide detailed instructions on the steps, but still need someone who is actually experienced so that they can ask me the right questions or apply common sense in ambiguous situations. I will be scanning in handwritten notes that will need to be typed and formatted (using the Markdown format -- I will provide a link to it). The final version when approved then needs to be titled, dated, and added to an existing document. I am looking for prices for these tasks on a per word basis -- a reliable and competitive rate. These will be small tasks in the 100-300 word range but will be several per week. Make sure you tell me the ** cost per word**, not an hourly rate. All notes will be in English. The scanned notes will be added to Dropbox, so you will need a free Dropbox account. To learn more about how to use it, check it out here: Sign up for free!   [obscured]  /HhogJE4 You'll need to confirm in your proposal that this is a system you can work with on your computer. While the work is on-going and repeated, it will amount to less than 1hour per week. Please make sure you provide a COST PER WORD....e.g. $.01 per word, $.005 per word, etcetera. I'm looking for a Javascript programmer to write a simple code documentation extractor / parser. The deliverable is a single function that takes a string of text of Javascript source code file, parses out the special comment blocks, and returns a JSON object containing the parsed comments. The deliverable should be accompanied by unit tests to demonstrate the code is working properly. It does not require full parsing of Javascript code -- just simple extraction and parsing of the comment blocks. Ideally, this will be delivered as a NPM-compatible node.js module (exporting a single function) using nodeunit for unit testing; however, this is not a strict requirement. A stand-alone Javascript function will sufficient. Code commenting of the delivered code is an absolute must. A short specification of the code comment format (in Markdown format) is attached.

**Note**: This document is Multimarkdown. You can see what it really looks like by using [The Dingus](  [obscured]  /projects/markdown/dingus). ###Overview### [Apple's SpeakHere example](  [obscured]  /library/ios/#samplecode/SpeakHere) demonstrates the use of Audio Queue Services. However, it uses a mix of C++, Objective-C++ and Objective-C classes, and is antiquated regarding the modern LLVM in many ways. The exercise is to convert the entire project to Objective-C. This is a technical exercise, and we'll use it to get to know each other. In future projects, we'll be borrowing from this conversion effort. ###Requirements### - You are fluent in Xcode, iOS, UIKit, C++, C and Objective-C. - You understand the basics of working with Git. - You have an appropriate development environment for running Xcode 4.5. At the very least you can run the iOS Simulator, at best you have an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. I can provide you with an appropriate certificate, etc. -...
