We just performed a SharePoint upgrade from 2010 to 2013 and we are not encountering a few issues. Our main issue is that SharePoint out of the box search web parts are not being displayed for everybody. If I am logged in I am able to see the search web parts but if I access my website as anonymous I am unable to see them. We are currently running on SharePoint 2013 Standard Edition. We need architecture and development support for our internal company portal developed with SharePoint Foundations 2013. The first iteration of the site used SharePoint features in combination with custom code to create a replacement for a sizable repository of files that were managed in a standard Microsoft file system using many folders. Today we find that the new SharePoint site needs to be further enhanced and that we need to move away from the file folder structure that was created in SharePoint (very inefficient). We would like to use 'out of the box' features of SharePoint as much as possible and minimize the use of custom code. Scope 1: I need documents to be renamed during / after uploading into a document library. A simple "MoveTo" as decribed by Microsoft does not work in SP-2013, and also causes various side effects, namely "something went wrong" messages as well as terminating the entire history of any previous files with the same name instead of adding them. Scope 2: Reason for renaming files is to implement a "multi-file" solution: contract.doc == contract.docx == contract.pdf == contract.tiff By removing the extension and storing the file as "binary blob", a "document" can have various file types without interruption of history.
