I run a wedding officiating business and have for the past 10 years contracted with my part time "staff". However, my attorney advises me that in the state where I'm based (Colorado) the Dept of Labor would consider my relationship with these folks to be more "employee" than contractors. I don't have a clue about where to start to attempt this conversion and I have no idea about the general legal logistics of having employees versus contractors. All I've done so far is email for Workman's Comp quotes. And to top it all off, my business covers three states. I'd like to get a general idea of what this conversion is going to cost me annually plus you know..just get a clue... is this something you could advise me on?

Hi Guy's, Just found you on Elance. I am currently looking at a better way to manage the onboarding process for new employees and Contractors and I saw your dashboard you created in you profile. I run a labour hire on-hire business where clients find the workers and then ask us to onboard them and payroll them.
