My small business is currently on a "cash basis" system and we pay taxes to the federal government "cash basis." All my reports are done in quicken and are on a "cash basis" system. I record any deposits into my accounts as they are deposited and any bills are recorded at the time I pay them. At the end of the year, we pay any bills /credit cards/distributors in full balance. Any money that has been collected from customers via credit card are recorded up to that last day of the year. Any money/profit leftover at the end of the year is distributed to the partners so that at the beginning of each year we start with zero again. This is how my partners and I decided to do this. There is no need to leave money in the business as we purchase goods with credit card, pay the balance in full with the money we have collected from our customers via credit card. We are being asked by a company that we purchase from to provide them with "accrual basis"...

I am looking for someone with an accounting background who can clean up my Quicken Home & Business account and teach me to keep it clean. You may need to check up monthly or quarterly to make sure I'm doing it right. I may need to ask questions about procedures from time to time. I DO NOT want to migrate to Quickbooks - so don't even suggest that. If you're not an expert with Quicken Home & Business and are willing to help me use it correctly, don't bother applying.
