This job is a large project which can be executed by a single highly competent engineer if required. We realize that this project description falls short of the requirements and will serve as a preliminary requirements. 1) BACKGROUND One of our clients is using a variety of heavy duty machinery to perform testing on packaging. The packaging may, for example, consist of oil drums, plastic drums, tin cans and other materials. These packaging materials are certified by this packaging centre through the following tests (Each test below is performed by a machine in question) a) Load Press - The machinery here performs a "press" upon to a package to see if there are any stress faults or breaks in the package - Machine puts up to 5000kg pressure b) Holding Pull - This machinery tests the plastic straps that are used to "wrap" a package across the horizontal and verticals. c) Hotroom Press - This room consists of heaters and systems that are designed to place a sma...

We are looking for consultant that can help us do some fairly basic electronic design work. We have budget for this project and are ready to start immediately. Essentially we want to take an existing reference design for WiFi enabled smart plug (   [obscured]  /tool/TIDC-SMARTPLUG-WIFI ) and perform the following modifications: 1) We would like to have two (2) completely independently controlled and monitored egress power ports. Per the documentation, the relay, meterology and microcontroller per egress port is "scalable" so this looks to be a fairly simple task. We would ask for help both with the hardware design as well as the software modifications to be able to control/monitor the second port similar to the primary (note: I am linux software engineer with 20 years of experience, but I have never written hardware drivers). 2) We need to add an electronic or mechanical switch: the board will be housed in a lockable chassis, I just need some notification when the ch...

Update: After a long discussion with my insurance agent, I've removed the design insurance requirement. I am looking for a electronics design partner to create two printed circuit boards for a robotic lawnmower. I am price conscious and interested to learn about any price trade-offs that are available. I believe I want two boards as follows: The base station should contain a PCB that is AC powered using an external transformer. It should have basic location capabilities, an RF transmitter, a modulated infrared light, and provide power to charge the robot unit. The robot should contain a PCB that is battery powered. It should contain a micro-controller, multiple motor drivers, battery management, GPS capabilities, an RF transceiver, and infrared sensors, a small LCD touch screen, sound generation, and several sensors including one or more cameras. These boards should be in compliance with relevant US and EU regulations and standards. You should produce basic software for the sy...

Design, prototype, and test a 4-channel digital to analog converter system. System should include a 4-channel 24-bit DAC chip, microcontroller, flash memory interface for micro-SD card, and programming interface for software upgrades. Main function of the system is to read 4 channels of data from the flash memory and transmit through the DAC chip at a continuous rate of 2k samples/second or faster. Frequency response for the analog output is DC to nyquist. System should include a switch to start and stop D/A conversion, several LEDs (power, D/A active, etc), and use a DC power supply (Battery and/or wall power brick). Output current is minimal and range should be 5uV to 100 mV or similar. Project includes design stage, customer design approval, then prototype/test and documentation stage. Deliverables: software source code in C-language, prototype board, board design, and short document describing the software and use of the system.

Hi, I need a circuit board designed and code written for a device that will transmit a weight over GSM to remote servers. The signal coming in will be that of a load cell. I would like the inputs from the load cells to be intrinsically isolated if possible as well. Once the signal is received by the Micro controller, it needs to be sent by GSM. That signal will be sent to a remote server and a web application will use the data to provide customer specific information. The unit will be able to take from 1-10 inputs from the load cells for now, depending on the application. Some Digital outputs from the controller will also be transmitted for alarms. The unit will need to be battery powered, with battery level indication also transmitted. I was thinking that readings from the load cell could be stored up and every couple of minutes sent to server to save on battery life. The project is in South Africa. So, I will need controller, modem etc. to be freely available here. I would prefer...

Dear Sir or Madam, I hope this is ok. I have squeezed in a much information as possible. My grammar is not good too lol. If figured the more details the more time saved on your part. Having to ask me questions. I work for an ice cream company and I am the delivery coordinator. My problem is the drivers are often spend too long at each delivery and the last deliveries get bad ice cream. I have come up with and electronic device that will allow me to track delivery times. My plan is to build a prototype times. Get it tested and then get approval to build 10 more. If it good well and head office like the device. Get it redesigned in a manufacture-able unit. So in your response please advise how much it will cost at each step. ? Design working prototype ? 10 Copies of working prototype to test ? Redesign to be manufacture-able I am paying for the design of the working prototype and first 10 copy for testing out of my own picket. So hoping to keep the costs down. But I und...
