I am looking to build an analytics BI system. From a high level system architecture, I would describe this in 2 specification 1. Build a datawarehouse with a simple data model (star schema or snow flake) that data could be easily loaded into, and is capable of supporting high performance queries and do not consume a massive amount of disk space. This would be hosted in the cloud (Amazon or microsoft Azure). 2. Create a web based interface that would allow users to securely log in, generate and create reports, and visualise their data (Dashboard). The web based reporting tools must be able to aggregate dimensions, query reports very quickly, search, sort, export to .csv, save queried reports, drill down (slice and dice). I am beginning a blog in which I summarize Alabama appellate court cases and statutory changes involving Alabama juvenile law. Cases are published weekly and most lawyers don't take the time to read them.
