I'm working on a side project that is a wearable device. I'm working with an electrical engineer on the circuitry, and I myself am a software and interactive design engineer. I need occasional advice on some industrial-design-engineering components of the device. These components tend to interface with the electronics on a slightly industrial level, like the housing for a button, the casing for the device, or available displays to achieve a goal given compact size requirements. Sometimes slightly more electrical, like "is there an analog meter that is thin that I could use to do this?" So I think it could be wise to bring in the advice/time of an industrial design engineer. He/she should understand things like buttons, displays, building the casing for an electronic device, and he/she must be able to search for parts and have a solid knowledge of component options.
