I have an Excel 2013 spreadsheet (.xlsm) with extensive formatting, formulas, and functionalities that depend on macros. On my local computer is it connected to an Access database. The spreadsheet is a front end for submitting values to the database by clicking a button/macro and then retrieving previous submissions from the database using a different button/macro. That works well on my personal computer. My goal now is to post this spreadsheet on the web and provide the link to it to users of my choice. Users should be able to open and use the Excel file to enter, submit, and retrieve data that is stored in a database. I want this Excel spreadsheet to connect to a database that will allow the functionality of entering and retrieving data via the spreadsheet to/from the database over the web. I work for TMC, a Teleradiology Comany that provides radiology services for many hospitals in Europe. In our UK market we produce quality reports for each client taking the data from an automatically generated Excel spreadsheet to give feedback on our service for each client. Up until now this has been done in a rudimentary way by updating some graphs in Excel and then copy-pasting for each client into a word template. This is not an effective way. I myself work as Art Director but I have experience in programming in a variety of languages and even VBA since way back but I don't have time to refresh my skills and make this work properly. We have developed an intense Excel Sheet that helps us prepare custom proposals for our online advertising clients. But we're finding issues when we try to use the sheet on non-PC's like Macs. We also often scramble the macros on the Excel. Phase 1: duplicate the Excel file We would like to build a new proposal document in Google Docs Sheets. Key aspects: 1. There is a 2000+ row data files listing various products that can be selected. Right now this is stored on the same Excel, but we'd prefer to link to a hosted data file that's independent of the sheet. 2. I am using Powerpoint 2013 I am using a plugin called DataPoint This allows me to connect textboxes and photographs within the presentation live to a data source (for example an excel file) Currently if user edits text in text box, saves the presentation, and then reopens the presentation, their text changes are reversed and the text from the data source comes back.) Obviously if user changes text via the data source (excel file) then this works, however for the way we are using this, we want the user to be able to edit text directly in powerpoint. Of course this doesnt then edit the text in data source, which is fine, But currently if user edits text in textboxes that are connected to datasourse, then saves and closes the presentation, and then reopens it, the changes are revertted as powerpoint regathers text from the data source.
