Need help securing our 3 servers and fixing some problems. Server 1: We're not able to connect to the server via SSH and the email server is not responding. This server hosts a custom website and back office application that are both unaffected by the current issues. Since the problems started we noticed a large spike in inbound bandwidth on this server (prior to the issue, 98% of our traffic was outbound & 2% inbound, now overall traffic is doubled with inbound & outbound @ 50/50). 1. Look into the SSH issue and if it could be a custom SSH port, or a firewall rule that is blocking the connection. 2. Assess if iptables blocked SSH and if there are any current hacks 3. Fix the current issues with ssh & email Server Config: - dedicated linux/centos server running apache - custom api, email server, php - csf firewall Server 2: We noticed a large spike in traffic on this server and found one of our wordpress websites was hacked and is hosting torrents downloads. 1. Look ...

Hi, I have two VPC's on AWS (with CIDRS 172.14.0.0/16 and 20.0.0.0/16) that are peering. I need to do 1 to 1 NAT from instances on 20.0.0.0/16 to specific ec2 instances on 172.14.0.0/16 All the traffic is private, both VPC and its subnets do not have internet connectivity. Currently I have an EC2 instance with private IP 20.0.0.22 where I do need to set properly iptables to do this NAT. Basically I need iptables guidance to configure : all the traffic that arrives into 20.0.0.22 gets forwarded to 172.14.0.22.

Expand on existing solution written in C / IPSET / SQLITE3. Goal is to be able to: - Collect stats on http and https traffic per FQDN/dst IP/src IP/Port/minute - Use IPTABLES routing rules based on FQDN without bothering with underlying IPs Challenges: - Routing is based on IP, not FQDN - The IP's corresponding to an FQDN are multiple and change frequently - Two DNS requests for two different FQDN's might have the same A Record - Linux system has constrained CPU/Mem resources Functionality: 1. Continually catch DNS requests and log the A Records corresponding to each FQDN (with custom TTL per FQDN) 2. Use A Record / FQDN information to create IPSET sets to be used for routing with IPTABLES 3. Create statistics (# packet, # bytes): - per FQDN - per destination IP - per Port - per Source IP - aggregated to 1 minute time period Hourly job since will evolve with time - but proposals for FIXED PRICE start are welcome!

We require 4 x VPS servers set up with   [obscured]   in the following locations: - Dallas, USA x 1 - London, UK x 1 - Amsterdam, Holland x 1 - Frankfurt, Germany x 1 The servers must be identical and configured with the following: - CentOS 6 - SFTP access on non standard port - SSH access on non standard port - iptables configured to lock down all non required ports - nginx web server - MySQL - phpMyAdmin No control panel is required (e.g. cPanel / Plesk) - we do not want these installed because they will use up resources. The first server to set up is the USA server and this will be used to make sure the existing website is working correctly. The site is currently hosted on Apache using mod_rewrite rules so this will need to be changed so it works on nginx. Once the site is working correctly on the London server then the other servers can be set up and the website will be copied to the other three locations. We want the USA server to be the "MASTER" server....

Hi, I am building a service that sells access to proxy servers. We scrape the internet for open proxies, test them 24/7, and maintain a pool of active ones, grouped by location. This enables our clients to configure their proxy to something like: > usa.ourproxy.com And all requests will route through a random, working open proxy in the USA. I am using HAProxy to load balance across the pool of active proxies. Depending on how much clients pay, they get a different bandwidth rate. We have plans for 1mbps, 5mbps, and 10mbps. Unfortunately, HAProxy does not support bandwidth limiting by speed. It only supports limiting requests per second. I need you to implement a bandwidth throttling solution, such that: - iptables maintains a whitelist of client IP addresses - Each client can have multiple IP addresses on the whitelist - Each client can have simultaneous connections open from any of his authorized IP addresses - Each client is limited to his bandwidth rate I am open to all op...
