Hi there! My name is Wayne Kille and I'm building a website which will be a huge resource (like an online library/ study centre) for people studying maths. The plan is to provide video tutorials and high quality pdf files of maths explanations, worked examples and exercises with solutions. These will be text book quality and better, written up in LaTeX. All this will be free for students to access and use. In addition to this students will be able to pay for one-to-one tutorials with maths tutors if they want to. What I'm after right now is someone to write the first of the explanations, examples and exercises. We're going to start by focussing on the English (and Welsh-?) A-level maths and further maths curricula. Not that this matters too much. Maths is the same everywhere in the world...! What it does mean is that a reasonable grasp of the English language will be necessary. So for each new topic/ concept I would like someone (i.e. the same person) to write the explanation AND...

The book is 616 pages long. It contains many equations, figures, and tables. It is written in MSWord using the MS equation editor. It is a .doc file. The job is to convert the book to LaTeX. This conversion is to include LaTeX soft-reference labels for the equations, figures, tables, sections, and chapters to replace the hard references in the MSWord version. Chapter 2 has been partially converted in order to provide an example of what is wanted. The attached files show two pages from the MSWord file; the corresponding pages of the LaTeX file; plus a figure used by the LaTeX version. No content editing is to be done. (There has been some editing of the content while converting this .doc sample to the .tex sample, so there are some differences between the content of the LaTeX sample and the content of the MSWord sample.)
