We have a PF Sense configuration we need assistance with PF Sense Configuration and Admin   [obscured]  /index.php/Remote_firewall_Administration For example, an admin will need to know and understand the following from the admin guide In pfSense, user management has been centralized under System > User Manager. This takes the place of the individual user management and access server settings that used to be available under various subsystems. Users are managed at the list view on the Users tab. The admin user cannot be deleted and its username may not be changed When adding a user, fill in a Username and Password (and confirmation of the password). The other information is optional, but may be desirable to set. A user may be added to a group by clicking (or ctrl-clicking for multiple) groups, and then press the "right pointing triangle" button to add group memberships. Groups can be removed by clicking (or ctrl-clicking for multiple) and then pressing "l...

We operate a root server in a German computer center (Hetzner online AG). The base-operating system is Debian 7. On top of this, we run Proxmox. The set-up is Proxmox KVM/Bridged with one/29s IPv4 sub-net. A simple IP Tables firewall protects the Proxmox host against access from the outside. A virtual pfSense firewall manages the traffic TO and FROM all virtual machines. The current configuration works for IPv4 as desired. What we now whant to add is IPv6 support for the pfSense firewall as well as the irtual machines. If you get selected, you will at first get all relevant information about the concrete set-up (ip-adresses, subnet IPv4, subnet IPv6, ip-tables firewall, ..) After that, i will request a few minutes of your time, at best on the phone (skype etc.) to talk about an ideal IPv6 set-up. We decide together what will be the best approach and you will then deliver concrete configurations steps etc. which will solve the problem. If necessary, you will assist in case of prob...

--- UPDATE: The Performance issue appears to have been fixed by follow web articles about not caching to disk for the squid proxy. Also to change some parameters in the boot config. The only remaining issue is the Sarg reports are not being automatically created. --- Hi, I'm looking for someone to review our pfSence firewall settings and make performance improvements. We are using the latest version 2.1.3 with 2 WAN links (4MB and 30MB). Client traffic should go to the 30MB WAN link (or can be 5:1 ratio with failover to the backup link.) The CPU levels sits below 20% most of the time. Memory sits below 50% of available RAM most of the time. We used Squid Proxy to capture the log of traffic. Issues are: 1. Some sites are not reachable through the firewall : eg.   [obscured]  /Features/2010/10/bca_water_spray_10_11_10.html (but can work fine if connect directly to the WAN link) 2. YouTube is sometimes slow through the firewall (streaming problems). 3.   [obscured]
