I need a robust Triangles flattening algorithm. It should process an OFF files and flatten 3D model to the plane using optimal path without any approximation in initial triangle's size. It should not use a 3rd party libraries, I need this algorithm to create an own one. Main criteria for algorithm: - find optimal flatten path with minimal length of seams; - exclude self-intersections of flatten model; - additional constraints may be imposed on the width or length of the pattern model. This project requires following acknowledgments: - combinatorial optimization; - matrix calculations; - mathematic and geometry;

Hi everyone, we are working on an online shop for a sofa company and need to convert existing leather and stool photos into different colors for a product configurator. We have 20 photos of different leather types. Every leather type has multiple small color samples. In total the 20 leather types have 371 colors (Some leather types only have one color, some have 20). So we need every leather type photo digitally converted into the existing colors for this leather type. So far so good, but now it comes: On the 20 photos of the leather types you see the stitched seam. The seam shall be shown in 15 different colors for every leather color combination. This was regarding the leather itself. Then we have photos of three different stools. On these three photos you cannot determine the 20 different leather types, but you can determine the 371 different colors and the different seam colors. We are open minded to possible solutions for this problem. Regarding the three different stools we ca...

I am looking for someone who has deep experience in plastic molding, extruding, design and fabrication. I need to develop a product that is able to slide over a piece of rectangular steel tubing (with fairly tight tolerance) to protect it from drop impact and abrasion. The steel is 6"x3"x1/4" wall thickness with radiused corners. An example of the steel is here:   [obscured]  /products/hrsteel2.phtml?page=rttube The plastic needs to be fade resistant (completely non-fading is preferred if such a thing exists as this product will be outdoor). This material should also be resistant to coastal salt spray and typical road chemicals. It also should be CNC machinable, resistant to impact/abrasion and is ideally available in many colors (the ability to custom match would be perfect). I prefer lengths provided up to 20' long which we could then cut to length and machine in our shop. My guess is that these will need to be 1/8"-1/4" in thickness. The...
