We are seeking maths and stats problem solvers who can provide a simple formula, algorithm to calculate risk. The real data or problem cannot be shared publicly so we are providing a simple case for the freelancers to review and submit a one page solution describing their approach and the risk calculation. The freelancer providing the simplest solution will be chosen. Sample scenario: A company has 50 employees. The employees undergo a survey in which the company captures information about the employees such as age, gender, etc. The company has some jobs such as driving, transportation etc which requires workers to be comparatively less risky than others. A sample out put of the survey/survey fields are as follows: --- Name Age Gender --- Risk attributes 1. Smokes - ( risk scale 0-10). (S) 2. Drinks alcohol ( Risk scale 0-5) (A) 3. Gets traffic tickets ( Risk scale 0-100) (T) Based on the above, develop mathematical calculations where risk S,A,T representing Smoking,Alcohol and...

My aim is to create a website with a simple design where everybody can report and discuss computer errors of any kind without having to sign up or register. There should be a pratical form to report and seek help for a specific error message and an easy way for other users to provide help and solutions. So, the website is all about simple troubleshooting. The report form should contain fields such as title, description, severity and reproducibilty of the errror and information about the device, operating system, browser in use etc. The webpage must have a strong anti spam protection. It must also be optimised for search engines and make use of advanced SEO techniques such as keyword optimisation and automated web scraping (more on that later). You should be an expert in these areas. As it is only a proof-of-concept, it doesn't have to be perfect from the beginning, it just has to work. Further development would come as a new project and depend on the success of the concept. Future...

Hello, We are trying to isolate trends in data on lab test results. You would be providing charts that demonstrate where the median trend line shows evidence of "changing" over time. We're trying to isolate the cause of concerns over values trending downward...i.e. we think the numbers are running lower than they have in the past. I can explain better in messages. Example of the data is attached. The values in C-AM would need to be displayed over time in a chart capable of showing trends, medians - whatever you think would help us isolate patterns of changes in the data over time.

I need to have some simple code developed to run the simultaneous probit-tobit (SPT) model as described in page 77-78 of the attached document. I have access to R and MATLAB, so it would need to be in one of these two languages. I would like it to be developed in such a way that I can load the code and run the model with my data with ease. I would also like the code to be commented in order to explain what is happening with each line. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. We have a call center application that is dumping data into a MySQL database, and we require some reports written to report on this data. This would be basic tasks of SELECT, SUM, ROUND, and array based functions to perform math operations and get statistics as a result. We have 1 report written already that needs some maintenance because it is currently inaccurate. We will have ongoing tasks related to reporting needs and further customizing PHP applications to add/modify functionality after this job. Server is: Apache TOMCAT running on top of Windows. We are able to grant remote access immediately to begin work on this task. This first task will be short. We would like to engage a developer that we can rely on to quickly turn around these types of tasks, so there will be future work if this first task can be completed successfully.

We are working on a project to determine the statistical sampling size we need to have a solid degree of accuracy in some reporting we have. We are an auto damage technology company that assists in determining the repair costs of vehicles damaged in accidents. We have processed over 611,000 accidents of an array of all types of vehicles. Our data shows an average repair cost of say approximately $2500.00 A competitor of ours has processed over 10 million losses and their published average repair costs data they have accumulated is nearly the same $2500 or so. What I am trying to find out is what is the sampling size needed to basically say with confidence the average repair costs are X ... etc on any data and be consistent with a company doing 10 million transactions vs. our 611,000 I know there is a point where the numbers don't really make a difference and the average will be fairly consistent no matter the sampling size. ie. Polls, and surveys of cert...

This task is about writing a research proposal on the topic: Decision Making in Computer Systems (self-adaptive & autonomous systems) Please read the brief below and then the attached paper (Research Paper.pdf) and then propose a similar project proposal. Brief : Decision making for self-adaptive and autonomous systems Description: Dynamic Decision Networks (DDNs) an extension of Bayesian Networks- have been used to support decision-making of self-adaptive systems. On the other hand, goal-based models (using i*and KAOS) have been successfully used to provide suitable design abstractions to capture the requirements of complex systems that have to autonomously adapt to their operational environment at run-time, using abstractions such as actors, goals, and design alternatives. As a starting point, the students will explore a state-of-the-art for self-adaptive systems and goal-based modeling. The following project can be developed in these areas: 6.1 To perform sensitivity analysi...

This research project of mine studies earnings inequality in the United States through the lens of skill accumulation among individuals in the workplace. The task involves helping me estimate the structural econometric model that I've developed using a database of individual-level observations that I've already built. An ideal candidate will have Matlab (and/or others, like Python) experience and some expertise at estimating statistical models with unobserved heterogeneity. (For non-economists, these are just random shocks that affect the agents in the model. In particular, statisticians tend to call these models "hidden markov models".) A candidate should have experience estimating models with maximum likelihood and/or simulated method of moments and a firm grasp of the theory behind dynamic structural models. A successful engagement will involve working with me to complete a functioning simulation of the model. Statisticians who are interested in applied work, and graduat...

You need to understand regression, cross-correlation, spreadsheet analysis, etc. This will be an occasional job from time to time.

What the reader should expect in regards to the overall exam experience. This should include some tips on how readers should prepare for the day of the exam, if the test is on a computer what technology or limitations should they expect (i.e., will a calculator be provided or what capabilities does the provided word processor have), and any other expectations or testing conditions the reader should be aware of, including a breakdown of test times and content covered. 3. The purpose and specifics of the exam, i.e. what is the exam testing for? What are graders looking for? What is the reader expected to have mastered? This is your opportunity to outline the...
