I need to develop a scraping tool to get prices of medications sold by online drugstores in Brazil. Job Description: Hi, I need to obtain the prices of all medications sold by online drugstores in Brazil on a regular basis (ideally daily). It seems the easiest way to do this is to develop a scraper to get the info from the price comparison websites below:   [obscured]  /   [obscured]  /   [obscured]  /remedios.html   [obscured]  /   [obscured]  / Ideally the tool should be able to download the entire databases of medications including: - Full name of medication and drugmaker (in Portuguese its usually "fabricante", or "laboratorio") - Name of drugstore selling the medication - Price for each drugstore selling that medication - Say if it's out of stock/inventory/unavailable This information should then be exported into an excel or any other readable format for databases. If obtainin...

The Elance API examples are only in PHP, and I want a Python version of that. This is a long term project, but for the first part, I just want one simple thing: A Python script that will grab all the jobs from one Elance category (like Writing and Translation), and save it to a file. Optionally, pass in country code and budget. The Elance examples are in PHP, like I said. Also, they are too complicated, using classes, building queries in real time etc. I need a much simpler example. Use principles of KISS and YAGNI. PHP knowledge is optional, as long as you can understand the Elance API. To apply: 1. Send me the link to Github (or similar) code you have written with any other API, or any other web scraping example. 2. Tell me what KISS and YAGNI mean (dont copy paste, use your own words).

This is a job to write a web scraper that will reliably extract information from a set of URLs and save to a user-friendly format. Language your choice. The specifics: - The input will be a list of URLs in .txt format with new lines separating URLs. - The output will be a format that is easy to manipulate in data analysis: .txt, .csv, or mysql table. The format I'm thinking of is "URL, attribute, text" for each HTML tag on the page, but I'm open to other ideas on this. - The scraper should handle simple errors. Specifically, in the case where the URL could not be accessed or the page was unable to be parsed, a single record should be inserted into the result set clearly denoting the error. - The script should be a good net citizen ? i.e. there should be a delay between hits so that it doesn't overload any given website. - The script should be well-factored, well-documented, and easy to modify. Other people will eventually use and expand on the script. - The script should...

As elementary is this may sound, I'm having a problem properly installing and running Scrapy on Mac. I have followed through all the steps in official guides, but its just not working at all. So I decided to hire a pro to help me with that, and also to make a few recommendations of working with Python to run data analysis.

I would like a web scraping script off the following page:   [obscured]  /chicago-cubs-tickets/cubs-vs-white-sox-7-11-2015-9177451/ I need the script to send me an email when the prices drop in each section of the ballpark. Some details: 1) I am only interested in the lowest $$ value ticket in each section/zone. For example, the script would only check the lowest priced "Outfield Upper Deck Reserved", the lowest priced "Infield Upper Deck Reserved", etc. 2) I would like the script to automatically run every 10 minutes (or some other interval that I can adjust in the code). 3) Along with (2), I would like the script to send me an email (I can adjust the email address in the code) every time the lowest price in any section drops under a certain $$ amount (I can specify this in the code). Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

I would like a web scraping script off the following page:   [obscured]  /eng/use/red/dynredpar.aspx I need the script to cycle through every airport (Complete list here -   [obscured]  /en/services/destination-information/airport/ ) and return the miles needed in each city pair for a one-way economy class ticket in a csv file. For example, if I do a search for ORD to ICN one-way in economy on 4/28/15, I get a return of 35,000 miles needed. I need the # of miles for every pair of airports possible. If flights aren't available, the csv file should just list "NA" for that particular airport pair. You will need to create a dummy account to access the site. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

Purpose: I need to run a questionnaire out to a panel of about 1,000 respondents. Before they answer the questionnaire I need to 'prime them' with an online shopping experience to see of this influences behaviour. Due Date: 2nd April 2015 Details: In my experiment I want participants to feel like they are shopping online and I would like to scrape the content from no more than 5 pages from the Woolworths site (I can tell you which pages) and re-brand this new site with a 'pretend brand'. I will supply logo and will need you to replace their call-outs such as "cheap cheap" and "buy more save more." If you can also replace these as part of this project that would be ideal. I can supply details for what I am after to you. If not I will do them myself and supply to you. Essentially, the website that you build will be the one that the participants will be on before they take part in my questionnaire. The Woolworths site is at (  [obscured]  ) ...

Scrape specific information from pdf files created daily and hosted on a web address and save them in a csv file. The pdf files have a fixed format, and the desired information is (presumably) contained in the same portion of the file. An example of a file that should be scraped is attached. The information of interest is the table on section 7.2. under the heading "Verificada no dia", with the corresponding row titles and the information regarding the date of publication (which is in the file name, in this case April 22nd, 2015) I would like to have the code developed in Python, and the modules should be made available to me, as this will be part of a bigger project. Further details: ============= I would need the web scraper that would allow me to pull this information daily from a pdf file (updated daily with a different name which contains the date information) and be able to write this information in a csv file with the contents of the table being updated daily (and ...
