A part-time teacher who enjoys solving different mathematical puzzles and writing stories. I substitute teach for a number of districts in Orange County, California. I've been doing this for a couple a years now, and plan on continuing it for years to come, for I sincerely love the work. During the evenings I help young students with their essay writing--brainstorming, outlining, stringing together words only to change them later--at Sylvan Learning Center. I am truly enamored by the English language, with its many variances in phonetic, syntactic, and spelling patterns. I also teach basic math and algebra at the tutoring center.
Previously, I assisted editors and graphic artists in putting together conference books for IEEE Computer Society. I proofread and formatted the featured articles in these books. The work was rather repetitive, but challenging and interesting at the same time. And the production editors were a charm to work with, very helpful and patient.
I got my BA in English at the University of California, Irvine. I have published ten articles, mainly concerning environmentally friendly technology, for a San Diego college newspaper, The Sage. I am also pursuing a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, which I hope to get by 2014.
