We use Treasury Management software to handle our bank reconciliations. This software uses imports from the bank (on the left) and from our general ledger (on the right). When transactions are matched, Treasury Management removes them from the screen and puts them together in a "matched" report, assigning an audit number to each matched...
Skills: bookkeeping, accounting
“This was an incredibly complicated reconciliation project. I'd pretty much exhausted my limited skills at solving the problem. I'd posted this previously on Elance, and two other providers had attempted it and had failed. (One made things worse.)
When I posted it on Elance this time I was surprised at the number of excellent proposals I received (57) -- but Pei's proposal was. by far, the best. She'd also worked on a very similar project in the past.
She took this on and worked steadily and accurately to completion. At the point where others would have given up, she persevered. The reconciliation project involved identifying, and correcting, pretty much every accounting mistake that could be made (Pei even discovered that our A/R control account was out of balance).
Pei responded to e-mail messages quickly, and we had several productive Skype calls. The fact that she's in Italy wasn't a problem.
We are now completely reconciled: all 5,500 entries, going back to 1 October 2008 -- to the penny. Pei provided us with a detailed spreadsheet that explains, in clear detail, exactly what she did.
I recommend Pei highly, and look forward to working with her on our next gnarly accounting project.”
