A finance expert who cares about assisting clients make quicker, better decisions and in understanding their numbers.

I have a great mix of commercial and pure finance experience and so I can talk-the-talk with the number-crunchers and accountants and also walk-the-walk with the other parts of a business who avoid numbers.

I can take obscure, difficult concepts and translate them into something meaningful, helping you understand what the numbers are saying and making you feel more confident in your decision making and understanding.

Service Description

I hold a BSc in Statistics from Newcastle University, where I graduated first in my class. I then continued formal education as an accountant at Deloitte and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA), winning prizes for both qualifications. (Note the ACA is the UK equivalent of the CPA).

After providing audit services and tax advice to a range of clients, I moved into business and have held a number of management roles across household name companies - British Airways, American Airlines and RBS Aviation Capital.

Outside the aviation world I have worked in investment management for American Beacon Advisors, wihch was acquired by TPG. I also had some time as a stay at home dad.

I am currently an independent consultant focusing on airline finance/planning and aircraft leasing/financing, but am willing and able to contribute to other industries too.

The airline and aircraft financing businesses where I have spent the majority of my career are great because they are very heavily data-driven and the concepts that apply are very transferable to other industries.

Therefore, whatever line of work you are in, I will be able to use my technical and commercial finance skills to help you out.

Examples of services I could offer include:

- All aspects of airline finance and planning - whether you just want a primer, or have specific questions I can help.

- All aspects of leasing and financing commercial aircraft, or investing in this asset...
