Steve has spent thousands of hours over the years maintaining several business websites and writing financial articles and business blogs. He has both broad and deep industry experience that involves the military, business consulting, agriculture, banking, real estate, securities, insurance, mortgage companies, government consulting and housing.
One of Stephen's earliest business writing roles involved technical writing for Wyle Laboratories (based in El Segundo, California) in support of their government consulting activities. Consulting clients included the City of Los Angeles, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Transportation. Steve's work with Wyle began while he was a graduate student at the UCLA Graduate School of Management and continued for three more years. Steve completed a variety of technical writing assignments that included both business proposals and final project reports. The primary technical subject matter included research that analyzed how real estate property values were impacted by aircraft noise at major airports.
Steve has regularly helped businesses with the proposal writing process. In many situations he was responsible for writing the entire proposal. In a smaller number of cases, Steve was hired to train and facilitate company employees so that they could perform as much of the proposal writing as possible. This experience involved three different types of proposals as shown below:
Solicited proposals based upon a formal Request for Proposal (RFP)
Business financing proposals from a company to one or more commercial lenders
Over the past three decades, Stephen Bush has worked with companies of all sizes. More recently Steve has intentionally chosen to focus on small businesses throughout the United States and Canada because the same small business problems seem to keep recurring. His efforts to help smaller companies have frequently involved business writing in the following areas:
Business proposals to companies and government agencies
Financial proposals to banks and other business lenders
Web pages and blog posts
Customized white papers
