Overview

Minimum Hourly Rate $22

During 35-plus years in the communications industry, I've assumed many roles: journalist, copywriter, public relations specialist, editor, magazine publisher, events promoter, and business owner. I believe that gives me a broad perspective from which to approach subjects, and the work ethic to get the job done professionally, on time, and with excellence.

I am at my best when serving clients on an on-going basis. I believe in developing a thorough knowledge of their business so that I can best approach the assignment. This also enables me...

Service Description

The services I've performed over the years include writing company newsletters, press releases, sales literature and news features. I've performed work for clients in the following industries: real estate, food products, IT web consulting, green construction, non-profit, health, food, success/motivation, oil and chemical, and municipal services. A few of the companies I've done work for: Shell Oil, American Red Cross, and the City of Houston.

I interrupted my freelance career in 1994 to start a printed bowling publication with my husband. "Bowling This Month," the industry's first and only instructional magazine devoted exclusively to the serious bowler. My company also conducted bowling clinics and tournaments. This venture gave me experience managing all operations of a publishing business: editing, proofing, design, print and web management, marketing and sales, and the hiring of personnel, contributing writers and vendors. I sold the company in December 2013.

Now I'm back to freelance writing. This is what I do best and where I am most happy. As I take on each new project on Elance, I work especially hard to earn a reputation for excellence, creativity, and dependability.

Special focus: website content, blogs, rewrites, editing, press releases, personal and professional profiles, social media content, interviews, research, newsletters, and formatting e-books for publication.

Areas of expertise: nutrition, food, health, real estate, travel, green construction,...
