“Positives: Amazon Software was a) polite in its communication, b) communicated every 24 hours M - F, c) very patient with requests to fix work, and d) tenacious in attempting to complete tasks to my satisfaction. Not so positive: a) The Contractor was unable to complete 2 major tasks that were part of the original proposal. b) The contractor was working hard, but all milestone deliverables were late. (This was due to a time zone challenge and the contractor not always checking screen appearances on various devices--mobile, tablet, laptop, etc.) The contractor was always quick to fix anything pointed out to them, but because they didn't always QA their work, it caused a large slip in the schedule. c) The contractor began work on the final phase without me funding escrow and before we agreed if we should even attempt the remaining tasks from the original proposal, given the difficulties and delays encountered in the first two milestones. I had proposed stopping work because I was not confident in a positive outcome, but the contractor began working before we came to agreement. This put me in an uncomfortable position. Overall, it was hard to feel satisfied on this project because several of the main objectives were not completed. The programmer indicated the original website table design prevented them from completing the tasks. That may be the case, but goals of the project were not completed; I had an expectation that the programmer would review website to ascertain project feasibility prior to bidding on a job. I think the contractor and I did well in working through our problems for the first two milestones and being patient with one another, but in the final phase we had a significant deterioration in our working relationship. Perhaps my particular project was just not a good fit for this contractor. This is not my first time managing a project of this nature, but it is the first time I have used Elance.”
