I am a fim-maker, photographer and English>Spanish>English translator currently based in Santiago de Chile.
I graduated from the International Film and TV School of Cuba in 1998, and my professional experience as photographer, videographer and director spans 7 years and different countries, including USA, The Netherlands, Germany, Bolivia, Costa Rica and Santiago de Chile.
I started translating professionally in 2003, when several film-maker colleagues of mine asked me to translate their screenplays and project proposals for international film funds. I immediately took a liking to translation, as it opens a door to new worlds, ideas and cultures. Since then, my client portfolio has expanded to include organizations and companies of different kinds, from tourism agencies, to mining or advertising companies.
Whether it is the translation of a text into a new language; or the translation of an idea into an image, I never cease to translate.
