I offer proofing, copy editing, and consultations on a wide variety of written works (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, academic work, cover letters, resumes, etc). On the most basic level, I will look for and correct grammatical/spelling issues, syntax issues, general flow issues, and continuity issues. Beyond this, I am happy to discuss work one-on-one with the author through Skype or email, to offer in-depth constructive criticism, to act as a sounding board for ideas and revisions, and to perform edits on a deeper level. Essentially, I want to make your work the best that it can be.
I am a highly active member of the transformative works communities both in a writing and editing capacity. On an academic level, I was invited to present my thesis at the Celebration of Supernatural Colloquium at DePaul University in May 2015, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with the completion of said thesis in that same month. I am also a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society. I have worked as a copy editor on a newspaper staff team and as a prose editor for a literary magazine.
As an editor, my personal rule is to invest myself 100% in the improvement of whatever work I am given. That is my job. I do not work to put authors down or to discourage them: in the author/editor relationship, it is my duty to do my best to guide an author towards the best possible version of their best possible work, and I enjoy that responsibility immensely.
