“Freelancer quoted 1 week or less turnaround. The first few outlines were provided for her to start, but there was one particular section of content I wanted to supply comparative research links for (though a Google search would've yielded the same). Due to that delay on my end, I wasn't pressing the turnaround time originally quoted.
After getting the first few documents, I was so pleased, I let the freelancer know that I was happy to give extra time on the other content, as one particular section was for a niche website and for a specific locale. While she was grateful, the next section of content did not arrive until nearly 3 weeks later and the first draft was substantially miswritten. I offered my patience in exchange for having it done right, presumably the first time around. Freelancer was however more than happy to make my requested edits, and provided those quickly.
After that, she declined to give a projectile for the remaining portion of the content (of which was 2,000 words of rewriting/content expansion: arguably the simplest portion of the entire project), and I was sooner able to handle the remainder of the content myself.
When hiring, I factor in the freelancer's quoted turnaround time with regard to their bid. I've learned that most clients don't mind delays and, like me, would rather wait longer for quality work. However, this doesn't relieve freelancers of keeping 100% open, and frequent communication about where the project stands. I would've appreciated more of that from this freelancer.
Overall the quality of content was excellent for the cost.”
