I worked for two years as a copy editor at the JoongAng Daily, the Korean affiliate of the International Herald Tribune and the English edition of one of Korea's largest daily newspapers. Later I served as the culture desk editor and business desk editor at the same publication.)
While in Seoul, I also worked as a freelance writer and editor for magazines and government and industry...
I have years of editing experience, as a newspaper and magazine copy editor and as the senior editor for culture, features and business at a major English-language daily newspaper in Seoul, Korea. I have edited hundreds of news articles, academic essays, features, works of fiction and industry publications. I am thorough and fast, and I can edit to any guidelines you set down.
In addition to basic freelance work, I have translated over a dozen volumes of manga and light novels for various publishers in the United States.
I am also active in Japanese tourism. In 2007 and 2008 I was director of operations at Pop Japan Travel, a division of the American publisher Digital Manga that runs pop-culture themed tours of Tokyo and other Japanese cities. While there I expanded the company's focus to fashion and other new subcultures and began offering the only tour designed specifically to give amateur manga artists a chance to publish and sell their work in Tokyo.
Since leaving Pop Japan Travel I have organized annual tours for Japan LA, a Japanese pop culture retailer. I have also planned and guided tours for private clients, and a press tour for the Japan National Tourism Organization.
