Ben Gran is a full-time freelance writer and communications consultant.

His professional experience includes four years at Wells Fargo as a technical writer and editor of procedural documentation, and also served on his business unit's Diversity council, working to improve recruitment and retention of talented people from diverse backgrounds.

Prior to that, he worked at an advertising agency writing public relations and marketing communications for a variety of corporate clients, primarily in the health care, manufacturing, and financial services industries.

He is also a former speechwriter and public affairs specialist for the administration of Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, who now serves as the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

During college, Ben interned at the Pentagon writing speeches for the U.S. Secretary of the Navy. His writing experience also includes a popular monthly newspaper column as a "foreign correspondent" while living in Japan.
