* PRODUCT SUBMITTALS:
I have put together submittal packages for 3 large OSHPD (hospitals) projects, and a dozen other multi-million dollar contracts. So, I know how time consuming it can be, to read through the specifications (yawn), and gather all the information, from all the different sources.... the web browsing, downloading, emails, and phone calls.
Well, I'm pretty good at it. Here is how I expect the process to go
CONTRACTOR (YOU): Provides me a PDF file of the specs, with scope highlighted, and comments added with pertinent information, such as manufacture names, and / or supplier names, system types or "alternates", and finishes.
ME: Per specs, I will compile all product data, test reports, etc, into organized PDF files, and folders, I will name the files with exact spec section number, your submittal number, and date. I name the folders with spec # and description.
I am very efficient at navigating manufacturers websites, to determine if they have the product data available for download, or else I send an email, but I also get the company on the phone to ensure my email gets prompt attention... And don't worry I am a PM, so I know how to schmooze it up, to get what I need ;)
If I am dealing with a supplier you will want to purchase products or at least get a quote from, then I can ensure they get the specs, and your contact info, to request drawings and info from you.
