I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States to complete my graduate education. I recieved a PhD in Animal Sciences from the University of Florida. My Master's and PhD projects concentrated in Nutritional Physiology, and Molecular Immunology, respectively. I am currently working as a Post-doctoral Associate at Virginia Tech University.
I have published numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers, and I currently review scientific manuscripts that are submitted to the Journal of Dairy Science. In addition to expertise in molecular biology laboratory techniques, I also posses a wealth of knowledge in the areas of Anatomy, Physiology, and Endocrinology.
I am interested in scientific and medical writing or translation jobs. I am fluent in both Spanish and English, and semi-fluent in Italian. My forte is translating scientific/medical manuscripts to layman's terms. I have acquired this skill through the teaching of undergraduate courses, as well as many scientific seminars and international presentations.
