Christine took part in a variety of activities, including EFL teaching and translating, organized by IMAGO, a language and business development consultancy of which I was founder and Managing Director. Christine taught English as a foreign language in a variety of settings and to a variety of students, including kindergarten children, middle school pupils, soldiers and business people. In her work as a teacher she demonstrated a high level of competence in her mother tongue as well as in the two local languages, German and Italian. Her lessons were well planned and she demonstrated pedagogical skill in engaging and motivating students of different levels. She attended regular training courses and continuing education events sponsored by IMAGO and, on my recommendation completed a TEFL certification course at the Concorde International Training Centre in Folkestone, England in 1994. One of Christine’s most appealing traits is her sense of humour, which stood her in good stead while navigating the cultural complexities of teaching in the bilingual area of South Tyrol. Our organization valued cooperation and good communication, and Christine was particularly adept at these two. She enjoyed working for our organization as we worked as a team to achieve our objectives of promoting good English language skills. I also knew that Christine was willing to take on new and unfamiliar tasks – I only had to ask and she agreed to do it, whether it was teaching a group of lively middle schools pupils who had failed their year in English, translating tourist brochures or lecturing on Shakespeare to high school teachers in our area. I can recommend Christine wholeheartedly to any school or organization, as I have firsthand experience of her versatility and enthusiasm, as well as her reliability, when engaged in a variety of assignments. In short, I have no qualms in recommending Christine and would be more than happy to answer any further questions you may have.
