I'm a startup entrepreneur with 13+ years of Product/Project Management experience specializing in software POC development and implementations. I specialize in helping entrepreneurs take their startups from idea to Proof of Concept (POC) utilizing the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) methodology. I cut my teeth first reading the Signal vs. Noise blog, then the subsequent books Rework and Getting Real by the 37signals guys, and most recently The Lean Startup by Eric Ries (which reading that book is like looking into a mirror, except I'm still...

After starting a new project I spend time getting to know as much as possible about the project background, reading specs and reviewing any diagrams or wireframes, then taking the time to understand the timeline for delivering the project. I work with the client to create a project plan with clearly defined milestones that we can then execute on.
In addition to project management skills I also can bring to a project resources I've worked with on previous projects in the areas of User Interface (UI), User Experience (UX), front-end and back-end development, and marketing/social media consultants.
Every client's MPV project is different, but I like to give new clients the following rough estimate schedule breakdown:
Phase 1 - 4 weeks (15 hours) - Product Management: discuss idea, define goals, decide on features to include in MVP, create wireframes
Phase 2 - 2 weeks (20 hours) - UI/UX Graphic Design: create photorealistic mockups of each screen, branding
Phase 3 - 4 weeks (30 hours) - Development: decide on programming languages, architecture, hosting, code actual MVP
During each of the phases the Product Manager is involved and working with the UI/UX Graphic Design and Developer, so factor in an additional 10-20 hours of Product Management time.
If I had to give a very rough financial estimate from start to finish (obviously with a lot of variables) I'd say this is a good guide:
Phase 1 - $1,275 PM (15 hours @ $85/hr = $1,275)
Phase 2 - $2,150 Total = $1,300 UI/UX...
