I'm a senior system and network administrator with UNIX and UNIX-like operating systems. I'm also an expert PHP programmer, having used it since it was invented in 1995. I'm a regular contributor to a number of open source software projects, including FreeBSD and Drupal.
As one of the first Internet entrepreneurs in Canada, I have the experience to apply technology wisely and efficiently. Sometimes the solution you need can be achieved in unexpected ways. I know those ways.
My experience includes development of new media, management of services and security, routing, programming, database administration, postmaster duties, spam control, etc. I have extensive experience with a wide range of open source applications and tools.
I can help with pretty much anything Internet or IT related. From top-level escalation of your sysadmin issues in Linux and FreeBSD to web site development including graphic design and user interface / usability design to project management to technical writing, I can do it all.
Short-term projects (12 hours or less) should be paid upon delivery.
Longer term projects (i.e. ongoing software development or project management) will be negotiated.
You should NEVER pay for everything (or even half of it) up front. Pay for the job or pay for my time, but pay when you get it.
