I have long held a deep appreciation for the beauty and power of words, with special interest in the clarity of written expression. My academic background in undergraduate liberal arts studies, followed by law school, reinforced my respect for language, training me to write creatively, analytically, and precisely.
I learned the professional value of my writing skills as a regulatory and policy analyst in Washington, DC over the next 10 years. As Staff Attorney for a national advisory committee for the U.S. President and Congress, I drafted and finalized reports on environmental issues of national and international concern. For the Federal government, I wrote reports, speeches, and ghost-wrote published articles for high-ranking officials. Later, for a private consulting firm, I entered the management hierarchy, honing critical time- and budget-management skills, while at the same time, continuing my technical writing for State and Federal clients. Turning scientific reports into readable public information booklets, analyzing State regulations, and summarizing case law for Federal attorneys, I received corporate recognition for my technical writing skills.
