As an Editor, I am a Communications Facilitator. To explain, I will assist you in finding the best words with which to express your thoughts and ideas. My goal is to make your writing stand out from the rest of the pack. I have extensive experience substantively editing works of fiction and nonfiction, and also academic writing. I am exceptionally adept at proofreading and copyediting. I complete projects in a timely and professional manner. I strictly adhere to deadlines and invest projects with the utmost my talents and abilities have to offer. I am very accessible and stay in close contact with clients throughout the duration of a project.
Service Description
I enjoy reading for pleasure and spend the majority of my free time doing so. I once heard someone say that you should think of what you would do with your time if you won a million dollars. The point of the exercise was to determine what activity one truly loved and enjoyed and to pursue it as one's career. For me, I would choose reading. Fortunately, the act of editing, proofreading and copyediting is just that--reading--albeit with a more critical eye for detail.

I earned a BA in Broad Humanities from the University of Pittsburgh. My major consisted of Philosophy and English Literature. I minored in Political Science. I consider myself to have a thorough liberal arts background. I am fluent in a wide and diverse number of subjects which include, but are not limited to, philosophy, literature (English, postcolonial, Latin American, and Anglo-Indian), psychology, history, religion (Christianity in particular), politics (US and world), current events, world affairs, foreign policy, art, astronomy, etc. Suffice it to say that I am well-read in a wide array of subjects, which greatly aids me in providing critical commentary and substantive feedback on the projects that I edit.

I am a seasoned editor, proofreader, and copyeditor. I have extensive experience working with fiction, nonfiction, and academic writing. I approach all projects with the utmost effort and professionalism. I am detail-oriented and this is evident in my work. I can point out issues regarding punctuation, spelling, grammar, usage, syntax, and diction. I can recommend substantive changes on the structure and coherence of a manuscript to improve its readability and flow. I offer unbiased, critical insight and feedback regarding the plot or argumentation of a work. When I am finished with a project, I am confident that it is publishable and press- (or web) ready. I am familiar with MLA, APA, and Chicago Manual of Style guidelines, and am familiar with UK (Oxford) English spellings, grammar, and conventions. I pride myself on a rapid and reasonable turnaround time, which is dependent upon the size and scope of the project. I am willing to entertain projects of all sizes and budgets: no project is too large or small. I use the computer frequently througout the day and maintain close contact with clients during the duration of a project. I am also open to communicating via the phone if the client so desires.
