Since I've been working on Web Design lately, instead of writing, this will be an overview of only that.
Expect me to do everything possible to ensure you or your client's complete satisfaction with the job -- if this includes digging deeply into code, creating customized functions and scripts for your website, or even learning something entirely new, know that I'll get the job done.
Web development would probably be easier with an application or two, but I refuse to use editors such as Dreamweaver, or other WYSIWYG editors -- in my experience, all of these do a poor job of making a proper website. Everything, despite the time it takes, is done by hand. (Your future contracts will thank me, if you do decide to go with someone else eventually.)
But learning new tricks (or new languages) is not always a quick process. Expect me to keep you updated on where things stand. If I don't feel that I can complete the job with my current learning in a reasonable time frame, I'll make note of it, and we can re-evaluate from there (not that I'd stop, even if it's complicated, but you'd have the option of finding some else with no hard feelings). Learning, also, isn't something you or your clients need to pay me for -- I undertake this during my own time, even if that means putting an extra week or two (or more) into the task. Naturally, this makes charging by the job, instead of by the hour, preferable.
