Computers since 1988; internet since 1995. Self-employed since 1998.

For the past 8 years my primary client has been a Canadian manufacturer which sells equipment worldwide in a niche market. My position was eliminated in budget cuts.

My business cards throughout the 8 years carried titles such as Eastern Region Manager, International Sales, Regional Manager and others, customized to suit the venue. Most accurate would have been Virtual Assistant.

During the 8 years, my job functions included:

- set up and management of remote offices including performing all clerical functions: design and creation of corporate forms, bookkeeping, purchasing, A/R, scheduling, travel arrangements, correspondence, reports, filing... All office duties.

- design and maintenance of static websites, ad copy and promotional materials including corporate exhibit booth

- equipment sales worldwide using qualified leads, internet research, direct mail, telephone, email, person-to-person, industry-related conferences

- set up and managed inventory of replacement parts including physical and clerical aspects from sourcing & purchase through order shipment

- customer service from initial inquiry through follow-up via telephone, e-mail, personal contact including travel as needed

- source and train part-time and casual employees as needed
