“I worked for Mr. Nielson for a a very brief period. I kept meticulous records in the form of an Excel spreadsheet, which I sent to him daily. I did not realize, nor was I ever told, until later in my phoning, that I was calling the very same leads that he had a company that he was extremely disastisfied with, already call. This was what was making it difficult for me. In fact, one lead asked to never be phoned again!
I have been a highly successful Elance contractor for quite a while now. All of my clients, with the exception of Mr. Nielson, have been extremely satisfied with my work and ranked me accordingly.
I am the second contractor whom Mr. Nielson has ranked well below their Elance average. I would strongly recommend that any contractors considering a job with Mr. Nielson interview him in depth about his expectations. For example, he said I was very professional but ranked me as a "2" in the numerical rankings for that category. That ranking should have been at least 4 if not a 5.
In conclusion, if I had it to do all over again I would not have taken the contract with Mr. Nielson because his expectations were not realistic and therefore not attainable. I did not research him thoroughly enough. When independent contractors are interviewed, we often forget that we are interviewing the client as well!”
