Managed a the purchasing and contracts department for a publicly held national homebuilder located outside of Washington DC. Responsibilities included negotiating and enforcing contracts with over 100 vendors and subcontractors. Also tasked with cost control, estimating,scopes of work, dispute resolution, interfacing with outside architects and engineers and supporting the business units responsible for the construction of over 1,200 homes per year, including both single family homes as well as mid rise condominiums. Managed a staff of up to 15 associates.
In addition, developed and wrote regional scopes of work as well as detailed policies and proceedures as well as other technical writing.
2000 - 2003
Resoonsible for performing quanity surveys and preparing estimates and subcontractor analysis of proposals on a variety of commercial construction projects. Projects weere both hard bid as well negotiated. Interfaced extensively with both owners and architects in order to reduce costs and maximize value while reducing costs.
