Most of the software I developed over the years has been for start-up companies which I either co-founded or had a stake in. Usually starting with the idea, developing the proof of concept and/or prototype and then after funding was secured building up the development team. I am only mentioning this to show that I have a different mindset from your average developer who grinds out a project and moves on to the next without ever looking back. I actually had to live with what I developed, often for many years. So, I am used to building quality software that can be easily maintained and utilized for a long time.
My long entrepreneurial background has taught me to look at a proposed software development project from a business point of view rather than just from the view point of a software engineer.
