Capable in a variety of technical roles, most of my more recent engineering effort has concentrated in twelve years mastering SolidWorks CAD, concurrent to a comparative record of time accrued prior in the use of ACAD/MechDT, in 3-D solid model development of complex products, usually formed of components via one of the three production methods - individual precision-machining, plastic injection molding, or sheet metal stamping. This was built on top of earlier expertise commencing upon leaving college, developed in the application of 3-D wire-framing, including complex bi-curvature surfacing using Cadkey/FastSurf, and, in a period beginning eight years ago when I achieved capable experience with Pro/Engineer (v17).
Effective application of finite element method (FEM) is a valuable facet of my talents in component and assy design, but adoption of its results needs to be in conjunction with physical testing providing an independent means of verification, both these areas being my strengths. I have developed a depth of understanding & skills through formal tuition and job practice effectively applying the unsurpassed ANSYS family of tools to mainly structural problems, but also tackling motion/inertia/modal analysis issues.
