An accomplished editor and writer, with portfolio ranging from technical manuals to process automation to published books and magazine/journal/newapeper articles to working with writers to whom English is not a first language. I am Six Sigma certified, and use updated hardware and software to obtain maximum efficiency.
My work as a writer/editor has evolved from that of a reporter on a small-town daily newspaper to current efforts in the technology operations of major corporations. Along the way I have been a college public relations director, editor of a variety of vertical publications, New York Times columnist, a software support engineer for Microsoft, and principal content provider for a specialized reference website.
Prior to moving to full-time freelancing, my work has been as a technical writer and analyst--currently as a contractor--at both Wachovia Bank and Bank of America. I have worked on state-of-the-art projects, helped develop an intellectual property department, and more currently as a writer / analyst / developer in a database environment.
Drawing on all of my experience, I do not begin a writing project without a firm understanding of its intended audience and the expected result of the project within that audience. Coupling that approach with my early background on a daily newspaper, I produce targeted results on scheduled. In short, deadlines are sacred to me!
I am comfortable working with people at all levels of an organization, in person or virtually.
